World Assembly live blog #11 - the Epiblog

People are starting to leave. It is a ROASTING hot day and as I type there is a call for the next bus to the airport (my turn in two hours) - people are wandering past, passing time, saying goodbye. I look like a REAL geek on the computer!
.
I just wanted to share some items for prayer and record my thankfulness to God again.
for prayer:
.
Chris Collins, one of the International Exec Committee of IFES has been admitted to hospital and had surgery for a large kidney stone. Chris is from NZ and we are praying now that he will recover quickly and be able to fly home as soon as possible. Pray too for his family back in NZ.
.
Daniel Bourdanne is starting a new phase in life and minsitry - pray for his safety and blessing in all that he will be doing: pray too for his family. Last night Daniel spoke of seeking to develop growth in IFES after a 15 years of rapid expansion. Please pray that God would give him and those around him the wisdom to facilitate this growth.
.
As delegates from 140+ nations travel in the coming days please pray that we would know a measure of safety in travel. The air crash in Brazil has sharpened all our minds as we come to travel. More than safety pray that we'd have a chance to share the hope of the gospel with fellow travellers and airline staff.
.
In praise: this week has been amazing in so many ways. There is little more than I can do that blog Psalm 24: for in it there is much that I want to say personally and there is no better way to praise God than by His Word!
A Psalm of David.
The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
-
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
-
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah
-
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!
-
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah
.
Jesus is the one who has ascended to the Holy Place and He is the King of Glory. In Him, who owns the earth, His people find refuge. The earth in all its fullness belongs to Him.
.
Praise His Name! Hallelujah!

It has been a privilege to read your updates on IFES World Assemble and to pray. Thanks for taking the time to blog it for us!

hi Andy, thanks for your daily live blogging for the past week! This is Gabriel Chan, the transportation guy at the host committee. It is good to recap the conference thru your blog as we have been working almost 24/7 and missed most of the sessions :( See you around :)

Hi. You guys were/are amazing! Thanks so much for taking the transportation load - it meant that we could really be in the sessions and not worry. Really impressed not only with your organising but with you graciousness in the midst of so many cross cultural expectations (and timekeeping!) well done. thank you.

Hi Andy

Your blog has allowed me to live and experience some of World Assembly. Thank you! I've checked every day!

Love to Ingrid (hope I've remembered right!) your wife, who has done a sterling job at home I'm sure.

love Henrietta

Does Ines know about Ingrid? I do NOT fancy your chances when she finds out. Obviously TSCF has a pretty open policy on polygamy as long as it does not interfere with your work but I think the first Mrs Shudall may take a stricter line.
